Pop Sensation Shakira and her long-time love Antonio De La Rua have split after 11 years together. The 33-year-old Colombian singer said that their time together has been "the most wonderful years of our lives" but says they made "a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship".
She says the split actually happened in August but they decided to keep "the details absolutely private until now".
However, in her statement she insisted there is still hope for them. "We view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth as we continue to be partners in our business and professional lives," she insisted.
